PhotoPresenter Presents Via NDI®

Germering, June 13, 2018 – PhotoPresenter for iOS, the app for show and tell style, non-linear photo presentations, is now updated with NDI® playout to enable easy integration into live video production workflows based on mimoLive for the Mac or other NDI® capable video production systems such as the NewTek TriCaster.

“NDI® really enables great workflows. In this case, we had a specific customer in mind. At their marine aquarium, they are helping visitors to learn about marine life by telling them about specific animals that swim into view in the fish tank. The fish do not follow a script, so the presenter has to pick the proper picture from their photo library on the spot to be shown at the presentation screen. With PhotoPresenter, they can then highlight parts of the photo to explain about anatomy, for example and with NDI®, in addition to presenting on their big screen, they can also send the video output to the live video stream, reaching out to a big audience beyond the on-site visitors,” says Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. “This latest release reinforces our commitment to producing great tools for live video production and our support for NDI®.”

Tell, But Don’t Show, All

PhotoPresenter is designed for ad-hoc photo presentations, where the audience is not supposed to see all of the photo library, just the ones you want them to see. You can easily browse your photo library and select the photo or video you want to appear on a secondary screen attached via HDMI adaptor or AirPlay. PhotoPresenter contains a set of tools for highlighting parts of the photo, like a spotlight effect or a laser pointer and allows the user to customise the look of the screen if no particular photo is selected.

NDI® Playout Requires No Cables

With the latest release, PhotoPresenter is also able to stream the video signal out via NDI® over the network to a live video production system with NDI® ingest capabilities such as Boinx Software’s mimoLive. This makes it super easy to integrate an interactive photo presentation tool into your live video production workflow without running any cables. This leaves the presenter untethered to roam about.

Pricing and Availability

PhotoPresenter is now available on the iOS App Store as a free download with in-app purchases. Its basic functionality can be used free of charge, changing the default screen logo is available as a US$ 19.99 in-app purchase. The watermark on the NDI® signal can be removed by purchasing a US$9.99 monthly subscription or a US$99.99 yearly subscription.

mimoLive 4.1: PTZ via NDI®, HTML based broadcast graphics

Germering, June 5th, 2018 – Version 4.1 of the Apple Design Award winning live video production application mimoLive - The Multi-In, Multi-Out Live Video Engine for the Mac is now available. The new version allows users to control PTZ Cameras via NewTek's NDI® protocol and adds a Web Browser source that enables utilizing HTML5/CSS/JavaScript based broadcast graphics. InfoComm attendees can get their hands on mimoLive 4.1 at the PTZOptics booth (N664).

"The trend for software technologies in broadcasting continues. After NDI®, we're enabling users to utilize HTML5/CSS/JavaScript based broadcast graphics like the singular.live platform or the various overlay services for gamers," says Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. "This reinforces our commitment to creating the most versatile live stream production application."

PTZ via NDI®

In addition to the NewTek NDI|HX camera, a growing number of PTZ camera suppliers, including PTZOptics and Panasonic, now offer NDI® enabled cameras. The pan, tilt and zoom of those cameras can now be controlled directly from the mimoLive Multiviews via NDI®. Users can also set and recall preset positions, which allows them to create multiple virtual camera angles and switch easily between them. Combined with another cool mimoLive feature you can set up a camera that can be controlled by your viewers via Twitter or Facebook which is a great way to engage your audience.

HTML5 Broadcast Graphics

The new Web Browser source supports transparent HTML5/CSS/JavaScript pages that can display overlay broadcast graphics. New platforms such as singular.live provide easy to use components ranging from simple lower thirds to complex sports scoring. With mimoLive you can not only use them in your live streams, but also play them out via SDI or NDI® to your existing broadcast production workflows.

Other Web Content

The Web Browser source can also be used to include other Web content in your video. For example you can capture a discussion in your chat room, discuss cryptostock charts or feature photos from various platforms in your production.
